| 11. | Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. |
| 12. | There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor? |
| 13. | Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." |
| 14. | Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. |
| 15. | Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." |
| 16. | As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. |

| 4. | Look! The wages you failed to pay the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. |
| 5. | You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. |

| 9. | Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! |
| 10. | Brothers, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. |

As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. |

It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

| 11. | Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. |
| 12. | Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. |

| 12. | But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like beasts they too will perish. |
| 13. | They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you. |
| 14. | With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed--an accursed brood! |

주님
이성 없이 행하는 삶은
잡혀죽기 위하여 난 짐승의 삶이라고 말씀하셨습니다.
불의를 행하며
마음을 연단하는 것이 아니라
나귀의 소리에도 귀를 기울일 줄 아는
경건의 삶으로 나를 이끄시기를 원합니다.

(베드로후서 2장 17절 ~2장 22절)
17.
이 사람들은 물 없는 샘이요 광풍에 밀려 가는 안개니 그들을 위하여 캄캄한 어둠이 예비되어 있나니
18.
그들이 허탄한 자랑의 말을 토하며 그릇되게 행하는 사람들에게서 겨우 피한 자들을 음란으로써 육체의 정욕 중에서 유혹하는도다
19.
그들에게 자유를 준다 하여도 자신들은 멸망의 종들이니 누구든지 진 자는 이긴 자의 종이 됨이라
20.
만일 그들이 우리 주 되신 구주 예수 그리스도를 앎으로 세상의 더러움을 피한 후에 다시 그 중에 얽매이고 지면 그 나중 형편이 처음보다 더 심하리니
21.
의의 도를 안 후에 받은 거룩한 명령을 저버리는 것보다 알지 못하는 것이 도리어 그들에게 나으니라
22.
참된 속담에 이르기를 개가 그 토하였던 것에 돌아가고 돼지가 씻었다가 더러운 구덩이에 도로 누웠다 하는 말이 그들에게 응하였도다
| 17. | These men are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. |
| 18. | For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of sinful human nature, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error. |
| 19. | They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity--for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. |
| 20. | If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. |
| 21. | It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. |
| 22. | Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit," and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud." |

(베드로후서 3장 1절 ~3장 7절)
1.
사랑하는 자들아 내가 이제 이 둘째 편지를 너희에게 쓰노니 이 두 편지로 너희의 진실한 마음을 일깨워 생각나게 하여
2.
곧 거룩한 선지자들이 예언한 말씀과 주 되신 구주께서 너희의 사도들로 말미암아 명하신 것을 기억하게 하려 하노라
3.
먼저 이것을 알지니 말세에 조롱하는 자들이 와서 자기의 정욕을 따라 행하며 조롱하여
4.
이르되 주께서 강림하신다는 약속이 어디 있느냐 조상들이 잔 후로부터 만물이 처음 창조될 때와 같이 그냥 있다 하니
5.
이는 하늘이 옛적부터 있는 것과 땅이 물에서 나와 물로 성립된 것도 하나님의 말씀으로 된 것을 그들이 일부러 잊으려 함이로다
6.
이로 말미암아 그 때에 세상은 물이 넘침으로 멸망하였으되
7.
이제 하늘과 땅은 그 동일한 말씀으로 불사르기 위하여 보호하신 바 되어 경건하지 아니한 사람들의 심판과 멸망의 날까지 보존하여 두신 것이니라
| 1. | Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. |
| 2. | I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. |
| 3. | First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. |
| 4. | They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation." |
| 5. | But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. |
| 6. | By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. |
| 7. | By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. |

| 8. | 사랑하는 자들아 주께는 하루가 천 년 같고 천 년이 하루 같다는 이 한 가지를 잊지 말라 |
| 9. | 주의 약속은 어떤 이들이 더디다고 생각하는 것 같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 주께서는 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망하지 아니하고 다 회개하기에 이르기를 원하시느니라 |
| 10. | 그러나 주의 날이 도둑 같이 오리니 그 날에는 하늘이 큰 소리로 떠나가고 물질이 뜨거운 불에 풀어지고 땅과 그 중에 있는 모든 일이 드러나리로다 |
| 11. | 이 모든 것이 이렇게 풀어지리니 너희가 어떠한 사람이 되어야 마땅하냐 거룩한 행실과 경건함으로 |
| 12. | 하나님의 날이 임하기를 바라보고 간절히 사모하라 그 날에 하늘이 불에 타서 풀어지고 물질이 뜨거운 불에 녹아지려니와 |
| 13. | 우리는 그의 약속대로 의가 있는 곳인 새 하늘과 새 땅을 바라보도다 |
| 8. | But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. |
| 9. | The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. |
| 10. | But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. |
| 11. | Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives |
| 12. | as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. |
| 13. | But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. |

| 14. | 그러므로 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 이것을 바라보나니 주 앞에서 점도 없고 흠도 없이 평강 가운데서 나타나기를 힘쓰라 |
| 15. | 또 우리 주의 오래 참으심이 구원이 될 줄로 여기라 우리가 사랑하는 형제 바울도 그 받은 지혜대로 너희에게 이같이 썼고 |
| 16. | 또 그 모든 편지에도 이런 일에 관하여 말하였으되 그 중에 알기 어려운 것이 더러 있으니 무식한 자들과 굳세지 못한 자들이 다른 성경과 같이 그것도 억지로 풀다가 스스로 멸망에 이르느니라 |
| 17. | 그러므로 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 이것을 미리 알았은즉 무법한 자들의 미혹에 이끌려 너희가 굳센 데서 떨어질까 삼가라 |
| 18. | 오직 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 그를 아는 지식에서 자라 가라 영광이 이제와 영원한 날까지 그에게 있을지어다 |
| 14. | So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. |
| 15. | Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. |
| 16. | He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction. |
| 17. | Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. |
| 18. | But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. |
그리스도를 아는 은혜와 주님을 아는 지식이 날마다 자라가되
점도 없고 흠도 없이 주님 앞에 나타날 수 있는 삶으로 이끄시기를 기도합니다.
